Band Hero 3 in pipeline before Band Hero 2 is out!

Although it may sound far fetched it seems that Activision really have started work on the next, next lot of games!
A concept artist mentioned on his blog that he had been working for Activision on Band Hero 3 and Guitar Hero 7, this article has now been taken down (probably after a rather heated call from a PR office), as we have only just started to get the first details of Guitar Hero 6 and Band Hero 2 is not even on the horizon yet.
More major title releases will not please fans of the series who have already criticized the company for its seemingly relentless release schedule, most fans would only be in favour of new game releases if they contained major improvements in the game play or features. Releasing a new title every few months if a very expensive way of buying some new songs, some of which you would not own out of choice, what fans wanted to see is more support for downloadable content, only paying for the songs you will enjoy playing, which is exactly what CEO Dan Rosensweig suggested was the stategry.
While it is good to know the investment in all your plastics instruments was a good long term decision, critics may suggest that the genre is being milked, and gameplay and innovation is now a distant second to quick profits. What are your thoughts?

We hear a lot these days about why recycling is so good for us all, well if you needed any further motivation what about recycling your unwanted Band Hero, Guitar Hero and DJ Hero equipment in return for cash!
We buy all types of controllers, which are stripped down by our tech guys, tested and either reconditioned or used for parts - we don't believe in the 'throw-away' culture and believe this is the best form of recycling.
If you cannot repair your equipment don't let it rot away in a rubbish dump, drop us a line and we will tell you how much we can give you for it. The process is simple and you are paid through paypal to ensure the highest levels of protection for you and your money.
We will consider any parts, from new to old, working to broken - tell us what you have got and we will get back to you.

Band Hero 2 Announced
February 28, 2010 by Steve
The CEO of Activision, Dan Rosensweig, announced last year that 2010 will see the launch of the next-gen Guitar Hero titles including DJ Hero 2, Guitar Hero 6 and Band Hero 2 (whoever is in charge of the new-game-naming-department deserves a raise!).
Fans may be wary of new game releases because the criticism that has been fired at Activision in the past for releasing too many games (6 GH games in 2009!) is based on fans wanting to improve their gameplay experience through DLC and not through having to buy and updated version of the game every 6 months. Dan did answer there critics saying that Activision will concentrate on improving their DLC content and concentrating on that much more heavily in 2010.
Currently there is a lot of DLC coming out for the Guitar / Band Hero titles and lets hope this is set to continue, but is this the DLC you wanted to see? What tracks would you like to see on the download list, or are you one that would prefer to see a new title come out instead of more DLC? Let us know by leaving a comment below!
There are no more details on Band Hero 2 just yet but as they come out we will dutifully report them.
